Decoding Your Heater’s Problem

Sometimes understanding what the problem is in your heating system can be like solving a riddle. There are clues that might point you in the right direction, but after a few searches online, suddenly you’re even more confused than when you started! If only there were one specific location you could go to decode your heater’s issue and get to the bottom of it.

Well, there’s always a good location you can go to when you need support–your phone to call our team for help! We provide heating services in Fort Wayne, IN that are designed to diagnose your problem and fix it in record time. This is a reliable method if you don’t want to get into the weeds of your heater’s issues.

However, for homeowners who are more interested in the problem at hand, maybe we can help you decode your heater’s hidden problem.

High Utility Bills

If your home has abnormally high utility bills, then there could be a hidden message to get from this. Have you ever tried calculating your daily or monthly electricity or fuel usage? Most appliances will be able to give you an average, or at least a ballpark to start in, and you can combine that with your HVAC system for a total calculation. If it feels like your heater is using way more energy than it’s supposed to (or than you were told it would when you first purchased it), then you might be dealing with an issue.

High utility bills when they come from a problem in your heater, can be a problem that our experts are skilled at decoding.

Poor Air Quality

Many homeowners might relegate air quality issues to their air purifier or air filter, but did you know that your HVAC system has an air filter inside of it as well? If you’re detecting problems with your air quality, or with the flow of air throughout your home, then you might have an issue with that component.

Head to the intake air duct of your heating system and change out the air filter. Either replace it with a new one if it’s disposable, or clean it with cleaning materials and put it back in.

Noises

Is your heating system constantly banging or clanging in the middle of the night? Or perhaps you’ve got a heat pump that’s bubbling or hissing as it runs? These sounds signal problems and each sound is going to correspond to a specific problem. Clanging or rattling noises can be a loose or broken component that’s hitting the walls of the chamber. Hissing and bubbling sounds are usually due to leaking refrigerant and air bubbles entering the system.

Uncomfortable Temperatures

Your heating system should be able to provide your home with reasonably comfortable temperatures. If you’re detecting lukewarm air coming from your vents, or you’re just not quite comfortable, then be sure to call our team for support. Uncomfortable temperatures are almost always a signal that something is wrong.
